Welcome to a beautiful three story Neo-Colonial house built in 1906 by W.T.S. White.  Antiques and heirlooms fill each room and hospitality fills the air.  Take a step back in time to enjoy the original features which include two fireplaces, leaded and stained glass window, unique door bell system, a Frank Lloyd Wright chandelier, Claw-foot bathtub and bidet, and unusual radiators with built in muffin and plate warmers.

Guests will have their choice of three bedrooms located on the second floor.  Fresh linens and towels, guest robes, mints on the pillow, and fresh ice water are among the many amenities found at Colonial White House.  All rooms are decorated with period antiques.  We want you to enjoy our home as if it were yours while traveling in the Clarinda area for pleasure or business.

Menus from local restaurants, current reading materials, and brochures for area points of interest will help you plan your activities.

Enjoy a glass of iced tea on the front porch in the wicker porch swing or read a book in the gazebo surrounded by flowers.  Planted are over 100 different varieties of hostas and day lilies for your enjoyment.  Byron and Gail are both Master Gardeners and look forward to sharing their gardens with you.

Breakfast is served in the formal dining room at a time convenient for guests each morning.  Meals are delicious and colorful

We also offer Garden Parties, Teas, Breakfasts, Brunches, Lunches, Bridal Showers,  and Holiday Dinners.

Colonial White House is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.  We've owned and operated our Southwest Iowa Bed and Breakfast since 1990.  We are also Food Service Establishment Licensed.
